Formed in 1986 in Guadalajara, Jalisco, MANÁ brought Spanish-language rock to the

remarkable 12.1 billion all time views on YouTube, MANÁ has set the standard for Latin
rock.

October 9-29; “Cat on a Hot Tin Roof” by Tennessee Williams
“Cat on a Hot Tin Roof” is a Pulitzer Prize-winning 1955 play by Tennessee Williams,
famously adapted into an acclaimed 1958 film. Set in the Mississippi Delta, it centers on the
wealthy Pollitt family as they gather for Big Daddy's 65th birthday, confronting hidden
secrets, greed, and the lies (or "mendacity") that unravel their lives.
November 13-29; “Dada Woof Papa Hot”
It’s a fall night in New York City, and two couples who recently met at a parents group are
out to dinner at the hot new restaurant. The foursome share photos of their kids, trade war
stories from preschool applications, and discuss their work capturing the urban parent
experience. #LoveWins, or so the marriage equality campaign has decreed. But then what
happens?
December 9-13; “Skippy n’ Bitsy’s Holiday Hoedown Hijinks”
These earnest performers – Skippy and Bitsy (portrayed by Terry Ray and Miss Jane Guy) –
are never less than hilarous.
January 22 through February 6, 2027; “Jeffrey”
In this comedy by Paul Rudnick, Jeffrey is a gay actor/waiter who has sworn off sex after
too many bouts with his partners about what is “safe” and what is not. Suddenly, just after
he's reconciled himself to celibacy, Jeffrey's flamboyant friends introduce him to the man of
his dreams, who also happens to be HIV-positive. What follows is an audacious and moving
romantic comedy with a difference—one in which the quest for love and really fabulous
clothes meet, and where unflagging humor prevails even when tragedy might be just
around the corner.
February 26 through March 13; “Bad Dog”
This will be directed by the playwright: Jennifer Hoppe-House. And it will feature Tony
Award nominee Alice Ripley and television favorite Jennie Garth. In the play, a performance
artist takes up residency in a blue-chip contemporary Miami art gallery to stage a
controversial performance art piece: The artist will live as a dog for a month. A canine
comedy about the high-class contemporary art world, identity politics in art, and the power
of deception.
April 23 through May 8; “Mother Play: A Play in Five Evictions”
“Mother Play” is a semi-autobiographical Broadway play by Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright
Paula Vogel, exploring her complex relationship with her mother and brother over four
decades through a series of "evictions". The play uses surreal and fantastical elements to
delve into themes of love, family, forgiveness, and the challenges of being a queer family in
the 1960s and beyond.

October 28 – November 15, 2026; “The Minutes”
“The Minutes” is a dark comedy by Tracy Letts about a small-town city council meeting in
Big Cherry, where a newcomer questions the minutes from the previous meeting and
uncovers dark secrets about the town's history and its founding myth, revealing hypocrisy
and the lengths people go to control their narrative.
December 2 –20, 2026; “Around the World in 80 Days”
The popular stage adaptation of Jules Verne's “Around the World in 80 Days” by playwright
Mark Brown is designed to be performed by exactly five actors who collectively play nearly
40 different characters in a race across the globe
January 13-31, 2027; “Million Dollar Quartet”
“Million Dollar Quartet” is a Tony Award-nominated jukebox musical. It’s based on the true
story of an impromptu jam session at Sun Records on December 4, 1956, featuring Elvis
Presley, Johnny Cash, Jerry Lee Lewis, and Carl Perkins. The show dramatizes this legendary
night, filled with iconic hits like "Blue Suede Shoes," "Great Balls of Fire," and "Walk the
Line," exploring themes of fame, friendship, and rivalry through music that defined an era.
February 24 – March 21, 2027 – “Les Misérables”
Les Mis or Les Miz, as it’s often known, is a sung-through musical based on the 1862 novel
of the same name by Victor Hugo. It is one of the most popular and highest-grossing stage
musicals of all time.

Desert Theatricals had a terrific season. Their 2026-2027 Broadway season will include:
October 23-25; “Into the Woods”
This Stephen Sondheim classic follows a Baker and his wife, who wish to have a child;
Cinderella, who wishes to attend the King's Festival; and Jack, who wishes his cow would
give milk. When the Baker and his wife learn that they cannot have a child because of a
Witch's curse, the two set off on a journey to break the curse. Everyone's wish is granted,
but the consequences of their actions return to haunt them later with disastrous results.
February 26-28; “Sister Act”
With music by Alan Menken, this hit musical comedy is based on the popular 1992 Whoopi
Goldberg film. The story follows Deloris Van Cartier, a disco diva who enters witness
protection in a convent after witnessing a mob murder, ultimately transforming the
struggling church choir.
April 2-4; “Man of La Mancha”
This Tony Award-winning was inspired by Miguel de Cervantes' Don Quixote. Set during the
Spanish Inquisition, it tells the story of author Miguel de Cervantes, who, while imprisoned,
stages a play-within-a-play about the delusional knight Don Quixote and his squire Sancho
Panza, who sets out to right wrongs and live by a code of chivalry, famously singing "The
Impossible Dream."

Dezart Performs has completed its first full season in its new home. The 2026-2027 season
will mark the completion of phase two of the adaptive reuse of the historic 1957 First

November 18-December 6, 2026; “Come From Away”
This internationally celebrated musical recounts the true story of how the people of Gander,
Newfoundland opened their homes and hearts to thousands of stranded travelers in the
days following 9/11.
January 20 through February 7, 2027; “Hurricane Diane”
This Obie Award-winning comedy is described as a sharp, magical, and wildly funny play
that reimagines the Greek god Dionysus as Diane, a charismatic gardener who upends the
lives of suburban women while challenging their ideas about nature, desire, and control.
March 3-21, 2027; “Primary Trust”
The 2024 Pulitzer Prize winner for Drama, PRIMARY TRUST by Eboni Booth offers a warm
and poignant story about stepping beyond the familiar.
April 14 through May 2, 2027; “The Remains”
A compassionate and incisive comedy-drama about one of the first legally married same-sex
couples in America.

Oct. 9–18, 2026; “Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat”
Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice’s beloved musical brings the biblical story of Joseph to
life with humor, heart and an unforgettable score. Filled with colorful characters, energetic
choreography and uplifting music, this family-friendly favorite celebrates resilience,
forgiveness and the power of dreams.
Oct. 30–Nov. 15, 2026; Del Shores’ Sordid Lives
A cult classic, Sordid Lives follows a quirky Texas family gathering after the unexpected
death of its matriarch. Packed with outrageous characters, sharp wit and touching
moments, the play explores family dynamics, acceptance and redemption while delivering
plenty of laughter and memorable Southern charm.
Nov. 27–Dec. 13, 2026; “The Producers”
Mel Brooks’ Tony Award-winning musical comedy follows two schemers who attempt to
stage the biggest Broadway flop in history. Their plan quickly spirals out of control in a
whirlwind of hilarious misunderstandings, dazzling production numbers and over-the-top
characters. A wildly entertaining celebration of musical theatre and comedy.
Jan. 22–Feb. 14, 2027; “Evita”
Featuring a soaring score by Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice, Evita tells the story of Eva
Perón’s rise from poverty to becoming Argentina’s most influential First Lady. Through

and visually stunning musical.
Feb. 19–Mar. 7, 2027; “Beautiful: The Carole King Musical
With a book by Douglas McGrath, Music and Lyrics by Gerry Goffin, Carole King, Barry Mann
and Cynthia Weil, this inspiring true story behind one of music’s greatest singer-songwriters
is captivating. Featuring beloved hits including “You’ve Got a Friend,” “Natural Woman” and
“I Feel the Earth Move,” this dynamic musical follows Carole King’s journey from teenage
songwriter to chart-topping recording artist and cultural icon.
Mar. 12–28, 2027; “Titanic: The Musical”
Winner of five Tony Awards, Titanic: The Musical returns to the Palm Canyon Theatre, telling
the stories of passengers and crew aboard the legendary ocean liner during its ill-fated
maiden voyage. Combining sweeping music with powerful human drama, the show explores
dreams, ambition, class divisions and courage in the face of tragedy.
Apr. 16–May 2, 2027; “Dirty Rotten Scoundrels”
Based on the popular film, this fast-paced musical comedy follows two rival con men
competing to swindle a wealthy young woman on the French Riviera. Packed with clever
twists, outrageous humor and a lively score, the show delivers nonstop laughs and surprises
from beginning to end.
July 23–Aug. 1, 2027; Seussical the Musical”
Dr. Seuss’s most beloved characters come together in this imaginative musical adventure.
Horton the Elephant, the Cat in the Hat and many others embark on a whimsical journey
celebrating friendship, loyalty and self-discovery. Filled with colorful storytelling and
memorable songs, Seussical delights audiences of all ages.

This will be the opening screening in a new series – "Bylines, Broadcasts and the Big
Screen" – supported by the Coachella Valley Journalism Foundation.
Entertainment journalist and Turner Classic Movies host Dave Karger will be joined by Josh
Mankiewicz and Ben Mankiewicz (grandsons of Citizen Kane co-writer Herman Mankiewicz).
The series will run monthly from September 2026 through April 2027 with featured titles
including “Network,” “She Said,” “The Insider,” “Good Night, and Good Luck” and “All the
President's Men” Featured speakers will also include Pulitzer Price winning journalists Carl
Bernstein, Lowell Bergman and Megan Twohey.

LGBTQ+ Film Festival
Two very special – and free – events will honor two entertainment icons that we just lost. In
honor of Dolly Parton, the Cultural Center will show “9 to 5” on September 16 at 6 p.m. In
honor of Tim Curry, the Cultural Center will host a tribute screening of the movie “Clue” at 6
p.m. Both are being offered free of charge to the community, but both have sold out.

This is Francesca Amari’s critically-acclaimed and award-winning show with songs and
stories about one of Saturday Night Live’s greatest comedians.
09-25; Threads of Gold - A love song to Dolly Parton" – featuring Francesca Amari and more
local cabaret talent.
This will take place on – what else – 9-2-5. And, because that performance sold out, they
have added another on September 24.

This is one of PS Underground’s most popular events. Francesca Amari will be joined by
Terri Olsen and Barbara Kerr as they celebrate the music of popular Broadway and off-
Broadway shows.

The Sound & Vision Awards Concert Film captures the unforgettable performances
honoring Paul Rodgers and Geezer Butler, featuring extraordinary collaborations by some of
rock music's most celebrated artists. Audiences will also enjoy exclusive behind-the-scenes
rehearsal footage and commentary from Musical Director and Producer Matt Sorum, offering
an intimate look at the making of one of the year's most memorable live music events.

Hailed as “one of the best acoustic guitarists in the world” by NPR’s World Cafe, Tommy
Emmanuel got his start at the age of six, when he first began touring his native Australia
with his family’s band. As a teenager, he earned a reputation as a highly sought after
sideman and session player, and by his early twenties, Emmanuel was playing on charttopping
hits and performing with acts like Air Supply and Men at Work. Inspired in part by
his hero, Chet Atkins (who would later become a friend, mentor, and collaborator),
Emmanuel stepped out on his own as a solo artist in 1979, releasing the first in a string of
acclaimed instrumental albums that would make him an unlikely celebrity in his home
country and beyond.

with chronic depression and how it shaped his life—from first love to marriage, divorce, and
