PALM SPRINGS CITY COUNCIL w/ Councilman Ron De Harte re: 3200 E. Tahquitz Canyon Way, Palm Springs, CA. 92262

- REPORT that Ron is a member of the City Council representing District 3 AND a former Mayor of Palm Springs (the 27th).

- DISCUSSION of how the Mayor is elected in Palm Springs. Ron feels we need to elect the Mayor DIRECTLY, not use the rotation system. A mayor needs the years to build a sense of continuity. People want to say they VOTED for their mayor. Hard on bonds and relationship when we change the Mayor every year.

- REPORT that Ron is running for re-election on Nov., 3 in the 3rd District.

- DISCUSSION of the challenges he feels strongly about.

- DISCUSSION of the future plans for the P.S. International Airport.

- REPORT on the new firehouse to come and our new Police Chief Stjerne.

- DISCUSSION of the support he feels we need to get behind going forward in the City; i.e. public safety, homeless.
