CROSSROADS TO CARE (housecalls are back) w/ Patricia Ryan, MSN, ANP-BC re; An adult nurse-practitioner who makes house calls. A concierge practitioner.
- DEFINITION of what a “nurse practitioner” is.
- PATRICIA PROVIDES SERVICES SUCH AS; Same as in a doctor’s office; She can;
1. Diagnose 2. Treat. 3. Prescribe. 4. Referrals as needed (Xrays, home health care, etc), 5. Do blood tests right there, deliver them to the lab and get you the results. 6. Check-ups.
- DEFINITION of an Adult Nurse Practitioner; a nurse who went back to school and has a Master’s Degree and MAKES HOUSE CALLS.
- REPORT on how convenient her services are for many folks for many reasons. Good to know your “starting point” from your blood work.
- REPORT on her concierge services for folks 18 and over.
- REPORT that Patricia can prescribe GENERIC BRANDS and save you MONEY!!!
- REPORT that she is the ONLY nurse practitioner who has this type of practice in the Coachella Valley.
1. Check-ups.
2. Overall health.
3. Yearly visits.
4. She will do the blood-draw and deliver it to the labs.
5. SHE HAS PORTABLE ULTRASOUND AND XRAY DEVICES.
- DISCUSSION of the convenience of her services if you;
1. Don’t drive.
2. Don’t want to sit in the doctor’s office AND WAIT to be seen.
3. Don’t have to get up and get dressed, can be seen while bedridden.
4. Don’t have to deal w/ the “wait” time to get an appointment w/ your primary care physician. Patty can see you in a very timely manner.
- REPORT that you can become a patient w/ a yearly fee, or she can bill Medicare, and her visits are charged to insurance which she will help you fill out.
- REPORT that she can write prescriptions. Even for bio-identical hormones as well.
- REPORT that many of her patients are seniors.
- QUESTIONS FROM “JOEY PALS.”
1. Is there a blood test for cancer? (Yes, actually for 50 different types. Some are specifically for women and others specifically for men.)
2. What is the difference between colitis and chrones? (Colitis happens in acute flares. Chrones disease is chronic and deals w/ the large and small intestine. Both are treatable but require your primary care physician.)
3. What does it mean if I can NOT lay my hand down flat? (Dupuytren’s contracture curls the fingers inward. Usually around the ring finger. Easily fixed w/ an “in-patient” surgery.)
