- DISCUSSION of how the summer heat can hurt your dogs paws. If you cannot put your hand down on the pavement, DON’T HAVE YOUR DOGGIE WALK on it!!!
- REPORT that it is illegal in CA. TO LEAVE A PET IN A LOCKED CAR.
- DISCUSSION to NOT leave metal chains on your pet in the heat, or water in metal bowls.

- REPORT on their FREE Critter Camp for kids held throughout the summer @ different locations. Kids must sign up. Great classes and training.

- DISCUSSION of the adoption process and what’s up on the website GETTING READY TO BE ADOPTED.

1. SAT., JULY 25 Animal Samaritans Adoption Event @ Petco in Palm Desert on Hwy 111; 11 AM – 1 PM (last Sat., of each month)
2. SAT., AUG., 1 Animal Samaritans Adoption Event @ Petsmart, 34-900 Monterey Ave., Palm Desert 11 AM – 1 PM (first Sat., of each month)
3. SAT., AUG., 29 – 6th Annual DOGust Birthday Bash & Bingo, Kimpton Rowan., 11 AM – 1 PM
- DISCUSSION that “Yappy Hour” is back for the Season. First Thurs., of each month @ the Riviera Hotel. Fun-raiser w/ Pet Parents who have friendly dogs on leashes. $20. Donation; wine, appetizers. Come even if you DO NOT have a pet. No adoptions at this event. This is social.
- REPORT on the Therapy Pets Volunteers Classes. You must take the class and pass a test. The work is in hospitals, libraries, schools, even COD during Finals, etc.
- REPORT on the Adoption fees are $90 for kitties and $250. for puppies.
- REPORT that volunteers are ALWAYS NEEDED.
