RESTAURANT OF THE WEEK w/ John Fritch re: “Peaks”, “Pine’s Café” and “The Lookout Lounge” @ the Top of the P.S. Aerial Tram. 1 Tramway Road. Palm Springs, CA.
- REPORT The Tram is the #1 Tourist attraction in the C.V. and has been named the #8 IN THE WORLD place for cliff-side dining by Architectural Digest and the temperature at the Top of the Tram is 40 degrees cooler than on the Desert Floor. You can buy a jacket at the gift shop if you need. Great place to send your visitors.
- REPORT that the views are amazing. You can see for 50 miles. Can even see the Pacific Ocean from the Top of the Tram!!!
- DISCUSSION of the food @ Peaks; rib eye, lamb, salmon, etc.
- DISCUSSION of food @ Pines Café; more cafeteria style; grab ‘n go, sandwiches, salads, ribs, herb chicken, pizza, nachos. Ride ‘n Dine (tram ticket and dinner @ the Pines Café) starts @ 4:30 PM; ribs, burgundy beef, chicken, vegetarian lasagna.
- DISCUSSION of the food @ the Lookout Lounge. Best view of the forest and the valley. Peaks menu is served here as well.
- REPORT that “Peaks” is open 7 days a week from 11 AM – 4 PM for lunch and 5 – 11 PM for dinner.
- REPORT that they can handle 120 folks for corporate, wedding, etc., private events.
- REPORT that they are open 7 days a week. Book on “open table”. Reservations strongly suggested; CALL because Open Table does not have all the tables available.
