– DISCUSSION that Alzheimer’s CV is local, not the national association. – MISSION STATEMENT: to focus on the PERSON w/ cognitive impairment and what is STILL POSSIBLE FOR THEM IN LIFE. Philosophy is to assist the individual and family whether it is providing resources, up-to-date information, and every importantly, socialization. Belief that “life goes on” and encourage both caregiver and loved one to tap into that!

- DISCUSSION that ALL their programs and services are FREE!!! - REPORT on the FIRST QUESTION usually is “WHERE DO I GO NOW, WHAT DO I DO?

- DISCUSSION that they do a screening/assessment program FIRST.

- EDUCATION; 1. Caregiver education classes; 2. Meaningful conversations w/ the cognitively impaired; 3. Traveling the Journey Together; 4. Community Outreach.

– SOCIAL GROUPS; 1. Club Journey; 2. Tunes for the Memories; 3. Creative Art Experience; 4. Dementia Friendly Café.

– SUPPORT GROUPS; 1. For caregivers/care partners of loved one’s w/ dementia; 2. Parkinson’s Support Group; 3. Bereavement.

- DISCUSSION that folks in the beginning stages of the disease often come to these FREE services to hope and learn how to prolong their joy in their lives.

– DISCUSSION of the ACV Screening Center; offers no-cost screenings for those concerned w/ cognitive impairment or memory loss. Results are reviewed w/ clients and, if desired, w/ caregivers and referring physicians. ACV will also provide families w/ the education and resources applicable to their lifestyle.
